You know when you’re triggered, right?
Someone says something, someone does something, something happens and all of a sudden you turn into a different person. You’re riled, ready to pounce and react.
What is that?
It’s really easy to think it’s about the thing that just happened. So it’s that stupid driver or it’s that stupid comment that someone made or that thing they do that really annoys you.
But really it’s not them, it’s us.
Us letting ourselves be triggered is a reflection on us, no one else. Digging into what triggers us is soo interesting because it tells us so much about ourselves. More importantly it creates a separation between us and the trigger which means we can study it.
We can work out what it’s trying to tell us so that in the future far less triggers us and we live at peace far more often.
Why do you really get triggered?
