In 2011 I taught people how to use Twitter.
A year later I hired a team and handed over my clients.
I forgot everything I knew
I stopped learning more
I didn’t think I had to
In 2023 I started tweeting again, but:
Everything had changed
Old methods didn’t work
I had to learn it from scratch
At first this hurt my ego.
I thought I should know it
I was embarrassed I didn’t
I nearly gave up multiple times
I took a friend’s Twitter course and everything made sense again.
(It helps that he’s the most helpful and humble writing pro on the internet.)
Relearning old skills doesn’t mean you’re clueless.
Put your pride aside.
Move forward as a better version of you.
