I posted on YouTube for 30 days as an experiment.

The goal:

  • Stop putting my channel off
  • Show up consistently in video form
  • Get scrappy and get over perfectionism

Honestly, it was kind of terrifying.

But the first video brought a tonne of support. The channel welcome video has led to so many emails from fellow weirdos, and these were the learnings from the first ten days.

Since then?

Inbound messages from old connections, friends, and customers. Really awesome feedback. A brand new co-hosting gig (that I'll tell you about soon) and a bunch more signups to Coachvox.

If you're thinking about being more out there in the world, I recommend a 30-day challenge.

Here's how to follow the same process:

  • Write down your strongest beliefs. List the things you wish everyone knew. Compile the questions that friends and customers always ask you.
  • Turn these concepts into 30 YouTube titles. Get inspired by looking around YouTube and seeing what kind of titles and thumbnails catch your eye.
  • Open a word document. Write the first line for each video; one that explains why someone should pay attention (or what's at stake if they don't). Write your talking points and stories for each title down.
  • Watch a few videos about how to talk on camera. Set up and get comfy. Find some good lighting, open QuickTime Player, do a quick sound check and hit record.
  • Stare directly into the camera. Talk as if you were talking to your smart, interested best friend about something cool you learned. Record a bunch in one go.
  • Shoot the files over to an editor. Find one on Fiverr. Or edit yourself in iMovie or Descript. Make some basic thumbnails on Canva or hire a designer.
  • Add the videos to your YouTube. Schedule one per day. Don't overthink. Tell everyone you know what you're doing.

None of this has to be complicated.

If you don't like how you look or sound, you'll soon get over it. If a video gets 3 views, who cares?

Everything is data. You're just practising. It's just an experiment.

But it might change your life.

My videos 26-30 are right here for you 🙂

I would love your comments if something resonates with your world.
